Since I have a few English-speaking followers and they’ve asked me when I was going to write something in English… here I am my dear followers ;-)
This
blogpost is dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. I’m not a health freak, on the
contrary! Don’t get me wrong I try to live a healthy lifestyle which means I
eat healthy, I try to stay in shape and I take good care of myself. But that
doesn’t mean I don’t like a good glass of wine or some chocolate! I’m addicted
to chocolate, people who know me well will confirm that.
All I’m
saying is that it’s important to find a good balance as far as your lifestyle
is concerned. Trying to set me on a diet, won’t work for me. As you might
know me or might not already know me, I’m half Greek. Which means that having
my family over or going to Greece means eating well. Yep, I just love my big
fat Greek holidays! ;-) What I’m trying to say by maintaining a ‘good balance’ is
that you should know yourself and set some limits or habits. It’s important to listen
to your body: you only have one so don’t ruin that! I will try to sum up some
of my healthy habits:
-I know
many of my friends that have newborns and small children will envy me for
saying this but I try to sleep at least 7 to 8 hours every night. Zzzzz... (sorry, not sorry :-) )
-I try
to drink lots of water during the day, at least 1 big bottle of water (and if I workout
it’s more).
-I try
to skip the soft drinks as much as possible. Funny as it is, I’ve been doing
this for many years now and I don’t even miss soft drinks anymore. I must admit
once in a while I like a good glass of Coca Cola with my spaghetti.
-Later
on, I will sum up some of my favorite smoothies. They make sure that I take in
my daily vitamins and dairy.
-Drinking
tea, I’m 100% a tea lover! Tea has a relaxing effect on me. My morning routine
consists of black tea with some honey and lemon juice. I’ve been trying out
various brands and flavors lately.
-I try
not to skip breakfast: home-made granola with yoghurt and a cup of tea.
-I TRY
to work out a few times a week, depending on my schedule. Afterwards I feel so
good and relaxed.
-Try to
go to the sauna once in a while. Sweating it all out is so good for your body
and mind.
-Go outside, get some fresh air and take in the beauty of nature. It are the simple
things that make you realize how small we are.
-Buying
fresh flowers makes me happy.
-Don’t
forget to smile! :-)
Here are
3 of my favorite home made smoothies I’ve previously shared on Instagram.
Smoothies make sure you take in all your daily essential vitamins, they give
you more energy and they are good for your immune system.
From
